Oh boy, the Yankees pen looks like it may cause major heartache in the Bronx. They better either get 8 innings out of their starters or have 7 run leads late in games.

That may be one of the most dominant performances I have ever seen on this stage, albeit a first game. W O W The straight change to A Rod was sick in the 9th.

A good pitcher can turn witch when they don't fear losing. They got him 6 runs tonite, and 11 runs in his last start. It's a lethal combination (good pitcher + he trusts his offense.)

I love the Phillies and this thread!

Go Phillies and Thank you Gales and RHT!!!

It will be a LONG series but I there is no way we could have had a better start. Wish Lee could pitch all 7 games.. I'm confident with Pedro, he has been terrific so far with us. Win or lose, he's the right call for Game 2. Worried about Hamels though, but I think they will only start him once this series.

Howard kept it going.. hit some lefty's (supposedly the best lefty in the game -though lee may disagree) . Here's hoping Utley stays hot... I was upset when Utley didnt score off Howard's double in the first.. but then when Victorino got thrown out at home on Howard's double in the 9th.. i realized why Utley stayed at third. MAN that is a short right field.

He can't carry the whole team by himself. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to a guy that delivers a brilliant performance. Cliff Lee was that guy last night. Tonight's a brand new ball game.
