Kruk is a terrible homer and I wouldn't listen to anything he said regarding the Phillies.

He was right though. Utley is the best 2nd basemen in baseball. Texteria or however you spell it is a great fielder.. but I'd take Howard by a freaking mile (and so would the Boss). The two have been night and day in the playoffs. Our outfielders are superior at the plate and Ruiz has been unbelievable.

Only Arod and Jeter are > than Jroll and Feliz.

It just makes me feel pretty good seeing that 80% of the people on here are picking the yanks. Honestly.

Howard by a mile? Really?

.279/.360/.571/.931, 45 HR 141 RBI 75 BB 186 K 14 errors
.292/.383/.565/.948, 39 HR 122 RBI 81 BB 114 K 4 errors

Seems like a wash to me.

And your outfield is definitely better, but I'm sorry, Posada is a way better hitter than Ruiz. I really could care less about a 9-game sample, your guy hit freaking .255 with 9 HRs this year, stop it.

If you would like to you can post this years post season #'s.. night and day.

oh for sure... There's a huge factor that isnt measured by the numbers above and that is CLUTCH. I dont think anyone who has watched the playoffs so far would choose Texeria.

"Just get me to the plate, boys"

You are right in general but there is no way I wouldnt take Ruiz right now. The 9 game sample is all that matters right now.

Only Howard and Arod have played better this post. And Ruiz has been TERRIFIC behind the plate.

Sure Posada historically is a much better hitter, but you can have him and I'm perfectly fine with that!

By this logic I should take Melky or Damon over Ibanez. Equally as silly.

I think the Phillies have a real shot in this series actually. We'll see.

Phillies in 6, Lee is MVP after giving up 0 ER's

I like the Yankees. I don't trust the Phills bullpen.

I say Bernie Williams wins it for the Yanks with a clutch Game 6 homer off of Mitch Williams.

Not only that but Tex is a switch hitter while Howard is awful against leftys. Last I saw the Yankees are going to start lefties in all the games except the ones Burnett goes in. In the field it is a mismatch.

I will say that the Phillies biggest edge is in the field as they are better at every defensive position except 1st base. Though CF is close to a wash.

Maybe so but Jeter, A Rod and Cano are no slouches and all have looked pretty spotless in the field lately. The Yanks outfield is inferior but I dont think this is the kind of "perceived weakness" that will even cost them even one game, much less the series. I think they win 4 close games in a row.

Only an idiot would want Tex in the WS before Ryan Howard

I'm very comfortable with my team going into the series thats for sure. Our guys are going to be EXTRA fired up playing against the Yanks too.

If Lidge blows 1 or more saves... we're screwed. Other than that I'm ready for this series to start!
