Remember how hyped Dynever was coming out of GP as a 3yo?

That MoFo may go down as one of the great hangers of all-time. 0-for-9 lifetime record in Gr 1 and Gr 2 stakes.

Did manage a 2nd in the Dubai World Cup and a 3rd in the Breeders Cup Classic ... but some of his defeats in lesser races were the stuff of legend.

Same sire as Perfect Drift ... but PD was like a lion hearted finisher compared to him I think.
Dollar Bill made these 2 look like Forego, IMO he was the king of all time hangers.

Dollar Bill stunk. That horse was never any good IMO.

He wasn't a top 10 2yo from that crop and wasn't a top 10 3yo either IMO.

I don't disagree, but there was certainly a fascination about him and why he was always well bet in the races he was entered in, I believe he was only 6-1 in the 2001 Final derby odds, second and no worse than 3rd choice to Point Given.

Everyone made a big deal about a visually obvious trobled trip behind Fifty Stars at the Fair Grounds ... it was in a collapsing race and it was the kind of phony trouble everyone sees and always overrates.

He was also being bet by people who wanted a deep closer because of the hot pace. Monarchos was every bit as well thought of as Point Given until Congaree beat him easily at AQU in the Wood in his stakes debut. The thumping Congaree gave him basically sent his bandwagon fleeing to the troubled sucker horse in Dollar Bill.
