Obviously there is no doubt that the people in government (of all parties) often deserve criticism, and perhaps sometimes even abuse.
But the constant harping on the idea by conservatives and libertarians that the federal government always makes things worse and hasn't ever fixed anything is.....well.....as tiresome as it is completely incorrect. |

boats need anchors. society's need conservatives.
that's not an insult. i think the conservative movement has historically served an important role in our country and other's. it's also why i worry about the intellectual bankruptcy of conservative idea's at the moment. they've thrown out the whitaker chamber's and william f. buckley's and replaced them with sarah palin and joe the plumber. liberals should worry about this as much as mainstream republican's. everyone needs a worthy adversary to keep them sharp. the chances that we go far astray are higher when the only argument against your idea's come from beauty queens and high school dropouts. you get soft. |

Good to see BO take the do-nothing cons behind the wood shed with some lines in that speech earlier tonight. Shame they always have to drag cons into the future.......... |

I'm against the Gov't being involved in the internet, and that's because there will always be someone wanting to get the Gov't to take away content they find objectionable. Where were these(Conservative) personal privacy proponents when Bush signed the Conservative-Sponsored internet gambling bill? They believe in limited Gov't? WTF was that? G Damn hypocrites.
