Well then why wouldnt Belmont put on a mini BC, how much does it really affect NYC that the BC doesnt come there. I think the turnout to see Racheal this year would be tremendous for them and bigger if the BC was there. This is just for one year and if they decide to take it back to synthetics they can just do it again. ITs unfair that dirt horses have to sit out the best day of racing because the people running the BC are DUMB

Would the mini BC really be much different than Jockey Club Gold Cup Day? If anything it would be the poor man's version of it since they'd lose the horses that went on to the BC.

the bc also gives extra purse money to certain races held at various tracks. i could see that changing if a track decided to compete. but i don't see it happening anyway.

you're starting to sound like the dirt-whinos at PA

Rachel or Summer Bird don't qualify for the group of horses that have to sit out. They handle the surface fine.

Might be tough to pull that off since they'll be running at Aqueduct that day.
