Monday night, he went 1 for 4 (infield single off Loretta's glove at 1st base.) To be honest, if Loney had been playing 1st base, I think he would of handled the bad hop. His hitting streak ended (at 16 games) Tuesday Night (0 for 3.) He got an RBI by grounding a ball to the 2nd baseman. In his 4th at bat, they say he got hit by a pitch (to me it was a weird call, but maybe I was sleepy.) He dropped the ball at 2nd base (the throw from the pitcher) on an easy double play. It was a big point in the game. He's o.k. to play the outfield, but he is not a good 2nd baseman. Bochey tried to play 4 outfielders. Not sure why. Maybe Freddy Sanchez is a lil banged up. Velez has looked tight against the Dodgers (believe me the Giants, period, have looked tight against the Dodgers the last 2 games.) Dodgers can't hit good pitching, but they can sure hit the cookies that the Giants' pitchers have been tossing up there. It was exactly what the Dodgers were desperately needing (to face some bad pitching.) I don't think the Dodgers have pitched that well, but the Giants (including Velez) have looked uncomfortable at the plate. To be honest, this is the unfortunate history of Bochey-managed teams (very tight, with the bats, in big games.) Velez has never really hit the Dodgers much. He has pressured them into mistakes, and used his speed to get on base. He's still hitting .323 on the year. He has to keep his average above the .300 mark, or he will sit. Others are better on D. So, if he ain't hitting really good, then the Pharaoh will be put back in the tomb. He's on a short leash. If he struggles the next 2 or 3 games, then Coach@club will come out of nowhere to join us once again (I can guarantee that.)

Nice double(easy triple, but the ball went over the wall.) Guess McDonald was too busy playing video games to read the scouting report (don't be throwing my boy a fast ball..just don't be stupid.) He easily scores on a base hit to center. They act clueless about the brotha's speed. Tried to get him at home (retarded,) and they were an hour too late. Velez accidentally undercut Martin something awful, and Russ really fell hard. Russ and Sandoval almost fought about 2 minutes after that. Doubled to deep center, and scored= golden with Len C. Cum pitching.

Nice cheap shot.....

Guy has only 3 walks.....in 105 plate appearances. Only matter of time before pitchers start hammering him inside, and watch his numbers go back to what they have been in his career.

Yes, he needs to take more walks. It's one of the many fundamentals of the game that he needs to work on. It's hard to hit a round ball solidly with a round bat of about the same diameter. He can do this. He can do the hardest part of the game. He can also run very fast (if the ball is in play.) There are millions of people that can do the other parts of the game well. That part of the game (easiest parts) seems to elude him. So, he damn sure better keep hitting well. Far as pitching to get him out goes....Better get it way inside, cuz he's had 3 home runs (on inside pitches) the last couple weeks. I'd say he's most vulnerable to the low sliders that start in the zone, and duck outside. His hands are way too fast to be able to assume you can jam him. They've done it a couple times, but if they miss their spot it's gunna hurt. He's been laying off the junk pitches that start in the zone, and duck toward his knees. He needs to take better at bats than he did against the Dodgers. That's how he has improved. He needs to get back to that mode. Against the Dodgers, he looked a bit anxious. I thought he might do that. That town tends to grip way too much when they play the Dodgers. They have some sort of inferiority complex, and they hype the games against L.A. to the point that the team is way too tight. Look at them in this series. They were questioning almost any close play, and often missing location with their pitches. If you look at Len C. Cum's reluctant exit in the 9th, you'll see him scream at the 1st base ump ( Furcal was called safe at 1st, and Ethier managed to get him home.) That team needs to take a step forward (mentally.) It's one thing to blame the ump on the last play of a game(still a loser option,) but it's really immature to blame the ump when you give up a clean hit that causes you to come out of the game. That's exactly what Len C. Cum did ( screamed " that's because of you, Buddy" at the 1st base ump.) Bochey got thrown out twice in the series. I've watched most of their games during the last month, and they have the talent to make the post. They simply grip way too much, and it's something I've seen a lot of with this manager. Both those teams need a day off (or 5.)
