Chemotherapy is difficult enough for sentient humans to endure.

The owner's concern for the horse is very admirable ... up to a point ... then it could become an affliction.

There seems to be zero chance that this poor horse will be able to endure the treatments ... and then go on to any kind of comfortable long-term recovery. It will probably be best to face this grim reality ... and put him down in the very near future.
