that's the thing, they actually raised the prices at the same time as banning byob. but, you can't really say it was a mistake, look at the handle. and i'd imagine the patrons appreciated not having the fiasco in the infield.

TVG was in the mix this year. It's not like handle has been phenomenal the past few years.

well, that's true...but an increase, especially considering the overall economy and the derby handle, has to be a good thing-add in magna's issues, and md racing on top of that. or maybe i'm just being too pollyannic.

Quite frankly the way Magna has handled things the past few years it would've been a disaster not to have a solid improvement in handle this year. You couldn't have asked for a better storyline leading up to the race.
