Certainly if he had magic elixirs and methods he would be able to get her to match those efforts right?
Sis City is no different than many top horses(more often fillies). She simply ran a monstrous effort that bounced her out for good.
her Gulf race was wonderful, but her Ashland was just too crazy fast. She was never the same and became largely disinterested in competing, kind of like Meadow Star after her epic "Mother of all Gooses" race agaisnt Lite Light. She never won another race.
She trained this year according to Rick just like she was top notch. But in the afternoons she simply refused to put out.
If Dutrwo is so "magic" why could he not reverse this?
Are you saying hes only "magic" when he wins?

Absolutely correct ... the record books are filled with fillies who were champions one year ... but who couldn't ... or more likely wouldn't ... run a lick the next year.

And ...

... we know you meant Meadow Star ... not Meadowlake.

Yes, I meant Meadow Star.
There are more than her.
take a look at Winning Colors 4yo campaign.
Take a look at ladys secret her last year of racing which ended when she bolted on the first turn of an allownace race and pulled herself up and just stood there as the crowd gasped.
Fillies, much moreso than colts(who are not immune from this) are much more prone to this.
Hell Storm Flag Flying had all of us waiting to see her at age three after that delicious two year old year. She had decided over the winter that she no longer cared about running. She eventually won a slow grade one with a perfect trip but never again after age two did she achieve great efforts.
I'm trying to figure out the logic of Joel's post and drawing a blank.
If a guy is a "magician" with a horse, and continues to train the horse, why would the same efforts not keep occurring?

I would consider her the best two year old filly that I ever saw.
yeah, she was great. She showed speed and also won at a mile and an eigth in great figure time.
I know what she was. She showed it. The fact that she refused to show it afterwards would preclude her from being great from an accomplishment standpoint, but yeah she was great.

I'll assume you are being sarcastic or just havent been around very long.

I'll leave this one to the Grand Master. I don't have the time to type out my list of better ones.
Dixie ... once again you display your wisdom.

Sarcastic was quite a filly ... winning one G1 stakes ... and placing in five other G1s ... but ...

... she wasn't much as a 2YO ... and ...

... I don't think Mike is acting like a filly ... he's a real man's man.

It's not hard to figure out what he's insinuating. He's claiming the man doesn't follow the rules. And I don't get that at all. He's supposed to be an up nd coming horse analyst for the FTOBA. How would he look Dutrow (or the Louisiana "Cajun Clan" stewards, etc, etc) he's bashed if and when he gets a chance to interview him?

Lansdon has sent the guy a ton of horses, and only one of em has ever won a graded stakes race. I guess lans is gonna pretty pissed off when he finds out that his trainer is a magician and hes only won graded stakes races with one horse. What gives? Guess he must be "cold watering" Lansdon huh?
No more free dinners for Ricky!!!

I am not at all dumping on Joel. I remember when Beyer made outright inferences that Scott Lake was cheating a few years back. If im not mistaken, he later apologized.

I thought he'd accused everyone of cheating except Mother Theresa.

Seriously...I recall reading an article by him that said something about how none of the normal big guys haven't won a Derby in several years ever since they started better drug testing/security.

I havent seen any of those others in print. We get the washington post here and I remember reading that article about Lake at Delaware park and going "damn, he sure is making some bold ascertations". At least he apologized although he probably was on to something. Scratch that.

A) You are making insenuations...I'm not...
B) I don't interview people..I'm an Editor, my staff handles any interviews...
C) Storm Flag Flying couldn't warm up Sweet Catomine or the big Unbrilded filly of Mandella's (name escapes my mind) in her prime....
