Great article Steve! Im a big fan of this colt. I worked for Bernie Flint and the Kleins and had the great pleasure to groom Swept Away.

Was crazy impressed with this horse when he broke his maiden....was even more impressed yesterday.

He could be anything. He's the kind of horse (like Hull, in this regard) that makes racing exciting for me -- when there isn't seemingly any real limit on what they may be capable of.

that was a huge performance. There are a lot of talented 3 y.o sprinters this year

Excellent write, Steve. I didn't know you wrote for BH.com as well.

Not on the same level by any means but I've been keeping tabs on Hidden Character out of Turfway since his impressive 13L win breaking his maiden there.
He beat a nice older horse yesterday in the Sanda Hall Grand Canyon Handicap and is now 3 for 3. He is 4yo though.

Wow! Alan, that is too cool... You rubbed the dam. From everything I can see, and from what I heard from Flint and Mr. Klein, she was some kind of horse. I absolutely was going to bring you up with Flint when he mentioned buying Outofthebox, but he pressed on about the 'Berties' of the Klein broodmare band.

Glad you enjoyed the piece and thanks very much for the kind compliment. Means a lot coming from someone who knows the principals. I was blown away by Cash Refund's effort, and had a ball putting the piece together today.

Just got off the phone with Richard Klein an he to appreciated the article. He also mentioned that he pulled up the beyer number from the race and it was 110. Im sure you will verify that.
The dam Swept Away was a 7 time stakes winner, although never won past 6f. Being by Petionville, this colt should be able to get at least a mile around one turn...

!!!
I got a 109 yesterday on the back of the envelope... felt like it was a pretty straightforward day but was fully expecting a "massaged" number since he ran off the charts...
