I had to put up with this last year before Denis Of Cork lost that race at Hawthorne Park and Kasept insisted that I was wrong to say that fellow lightly raced horse and recent allowance race winner Big Brown was a much more serious Derby contender than Denis Of Cork.

All the screen captures in the world couldn't convince him his Southwest Stakes win was greatly aided by a Sacred Journey setup.

Ballantyne was a comedic magician. You must have seen him... May be Ballantine (ine instead of yne). Carl Ballantine... Was on McHale's Navy. Hysterical. But a magician too.

And I'm kidding about the slight of hand... I love the floor shows! I never get to kid around. Andy kids around and it's comic Masterpiece Theater... Jeez.

(And Denis of Cork is still better than Big Brown.)

Ballantine the Magnificent was a tremendous act. Yes, he did play Lester Gruber on McHale's Navy as well.

Moving into Esoteric territory in 5..4..3......

More tangential McHale's Navy notes at a later time...

The only Ballantyne I know of is a resort in NC.
