He only lost by three letters. And they both could've been way more creative. I didn't actually see this year's HORSE at the All-Star Game. Were the shots more interesting than this "regular jumpshot" stuff?

From what I can make of it, this is something they did to run during halftime of the national broadcasts back in the late 70's. I watched a little of Paul Westphal's match with Super John Williamson, it was a bit more entertaining. I can only assume in the early rounds, the better players were a bit conservative, simply trying to win.
I do believe the Pistol had a bit more in his repetoire than he used in the first match. |
