freddymo, you have an issue with the network, not NYRA.
The NYRA guys were doing a 1 hour show for MSG-Plus and were on a tight schedule. They already shifted to accomodate HAW. I have no idea why HAW was late, I was at the rail at AQU when it was run.
Because my job often involves scheduling racing on TV, I can tell you that it's not easy co-ordinating between the track feeds of as many as 6 tracks. If one track is slow to load, has a late scratch or or just gets behind it messes up the whole thing.
Actually races start late more often than on time and to avoid any conflict the tracks should schedule such races at least 10 minutes apart. That can't always happen.

I have no issues with NYRA other then they hired Serling...I used to hate NYRA because they were corrupt and unaccountable but recently they have done a fine job.. I really didn't see MSG advertise the race it would have been cool to actually see it live..

As for TVG...I actually think they do a fairly good job and find many of the the folks they have on TV fairly entertaining

To be completely honest here. I just now considered MSG coverage of the Wood. The decision to start before the Illinois finished may have been totally out of NYRA's hands.... Although it still sucks for the racing fan.. (And that opinion will never change) I wasn't aware of I Want Revenges extremely troubled start until I actually saw the repeat. I feel I missed out on a performance for the ages. It's like watching a repeat of last years Super Bowl when you already knew the outcome.

Question about Imperial Council's paddock incident. Do any of you think that cost him the race? I kinda feel like it didn't. I think it was more his preparation (or lack thereof) more than the flipping. If this race was at 8f, he was right there, might have even won so it's hard for me to think he didn't run his race. But that last furlong found him wanting.

Imperial Council is a better horse than what he showed in the Wood. Better of course being the relative term, because better is not Derby Trail capable at this point, but a horse freaking-out in the paddock is certainly a plausible excuse.

I'm not saying it's not an excuse but maybe the 9f was a bigger excuse. To me, it looked like if the race was 8f, he may have won the race and nobody would be using any excuses. He would have looked as good as he had before, his figures would have been better than they had been before. Up to 8f, I thought he was actually as good as or better than he had shown before, paddock incident and all. Perhaps the wasted energy caught up to him in the last furlong and that's the reason he backed up. Certainly possible. But I think it may also be a convenient excuse to cause some people to overlook the fact that this might have been the point where he was going to start weakening anyway.

He was dead empty at the top of the stretch and there is zero chance that he was winning the race if it was a mile......for a whole variety of reasons.

But, you know that.

Imperial Council is a sh.ittier version of Denis of Cork...if that's even possible.

At least Denis won a meaningful stakes race, even if it was handed to him.

Imperial Council might be a decent horse towards the end of the year but to say that his effort was disappointing on Saturday is a wild understatement.

IMPERIAL COUNCIL another headcase like CORONADO'S QUEST? Didn't that one needed to be handled with care in that paddock area and during warmups?
