One of the good guys in the sport.

He was also a legend with first time starters.

RIP, tough way to go. Was he the guy who trained for the people who had silks like the Cubs logo?

No funeral services. What's this? Someone hated funerals as much as me? He wasn't obscure. He was always around, and did pretty well with the low quality stuff he had to work with(including the 2nd-rate jock mentioned earlier.) Gary Lewis has become pretty obscure. Haven't seen him training many. He used to have a lot more horses. Maybe he's training at the Orange County Hook races.

Ron and Susie Anson are the owners that had the Cub Silks. They used Alfredo Marquez a lot - but I think got away from him and might have used Matlow some. Not positive on that though.

Matlow had Reraise for his debut race - he beat a MCL field and was sold privately.

They got out of the game, it really wasnt anything Marquez did. Marquez is another squeky clean guy who has got left in the wind (ie McAnally, Paco Gonzales, Marquez). The only really clean guy I know of that is still doing well is Shirreffs who has an amazing array of horses.
