will be at work but am thinking can manage to watch during an adjusted lunchtime - weather is supposed to be real nice so should be a fun day for those attending -

on a completely unrelated note, noticed on the second page of the overnite this admonition, anyone know why tossing tongue ties is so serious as to warrant eight exclamation marks???

PLEASE DO NOT THROW TONGUE TIES ON THE RACETRACK !!!!!!!!

I think I remember Chuck mentioning that he did that at Keeneland and they were on it in a hot second. Tongue ties break down the polytrack - I think that is how it went.

or maybe the poly track tractor equipment can't handle anything ohter than poly track and horse poooooo

Maybe it creates a thick spot and could hurt horses

not certain

just guessing

Polytrack is ridiculous, the horses can't even 'dump' on the track because it screws everything up. There is a guy at Arlington that follows the post parade in a little 4 wheeler with a pooper scooper

and sunshine that's bad for it too

They pick up the horse pooooo after every race, they do not let it mix into the polytrack as accumulating organic stuff would clog drainage, change the way the polytrack rebounds (acts when horse hooves hit it), etc.

I imagine a bunch of tongue ties thrown down on a regular track could screw up the harrows there, too, over a few days.
