Default 100+

It's early yet, when all the contenders start carrying 120+ lbs around 2-turns going at least 1 1/8 preps then we'll see who is serious horse for classic races. Remember you know who that really did'nt show up till Florida Derby last year ?

I know who you meant, but saying that Big Brown didn't really show up until the Florida Derby isn't really accurate. He was definitely prominent on the Derby radar before then.

The off the turf allowance while impressive didn't really make everyone think Derby. He beat nothing and was still very much unproven.

I thought that was exactly what made everyone start thinking Derby....it wasn't like they just tried the Florida Derby for fun. The off-the-turf race had potential Derby candidate written all over it, so they'd need earnings for it and he had one shot.

Quite possibly the greatest post in the history of this board, as Hossy later suggests.

I'm no expert, but I personally think the Pamplemousse has a really ugly, turfy stride. His legs are really high and flailing about. Doesn't seem conducive to the to a 20-horse field on hard dirt.

Good thing there's no HEADON replay (abbreviated that these tend to be at SA, thus we can't see what the horse is doing on the backstretch) so we can't really comment too much on his stride.

It's ****in' 2009, is it too much to ask (for the major tracks, at least) to catch up with technology?

It's 2009 you have been bitchin about the technology since the year gimmel... Perhaps you dont get that nobody is listening and you need to elect to play the game with the pieces that are in place or take your ball and go play elsewhere.. To suggest to track managements that head on replays are going to increase handle is pretty outrageous..For such a bright guy you sure have a few issues..
