![]() Look for another blockbuster speed figure anyway. The race went 3.35 seconds faster than the other mile race on the card.
FreddyMo and the track super he is paying off to quicken the track strike again. |

Ummmmm They're only 'blockbuster' if the horses run back to them. ![]() I find it all comical after all the posts (here and elsewhere) about the high numbers a couple of the horses in the race had turned in last out. And here I am thinking that JUICE was supposed to be consistent. ![]() |

![]() Obvious question is who looks better in the Florida Derby assuming that the first 2 finishers go to the Florida Derby.

A suspected "juiced" horse is technically supposed to explode in one race or sometimes two or three races and just fall apart at the seems totally there after. The crazy thing about these super trainers - is that they seem to have alchemistic powers and get these huge move-ups and keep horses going strong for many races and sometimes through long (albeit well spaced) campaigns. Dutrow is no doubt one of them. If you're curious as to how I bet this specific race .. I did bet the big figure horses. Go ahead and mock me about it all you want if it makes you feel any better. |

![]() This Ones For Phil was in good shape - until he ran a 21.72 second quarter
![]() I bet TOFP and Theregoesjojo to win. SamePage and Quality Road and maybe even Taqarub were supposed to duel on a 21.72 1st quarter with Prado carefully keeping TOFP out of the pace duel, but the rest is history... Quality Road ran back to his debut race. He's a nice horse, he's better than War Pass was at this time last year, and Quality Road can actually press as well as lead. Lets be honest - this was a good field, but it's not really what its hyped up to be as "One of the Best Derby Preps in ages...". Most of these horses aren't classic distance horses. It was a nice field of sprinters and milers coming together with a lot of big figures. Maybe if you get some of the sprinters out of the way it could help a horse like Quality Road even more in the Florida Derby he gets to relax up front. They ran all ran pretty well to form - the race tactics and pace scenario just didn't materialize the way you would expect. |
