Thanks for the good wishes. Can't say this is the spot I would have run him but.....The trainer thinks this is a glorified NW1 . I've been wrong so many times before maybe I'll be wrong about this spot.

Clever placement indeed.

If everyone but Player's List and Sumo scratches ... I think you guys might romp.

I'm taking "Medaglia" in the head to head against Player's List.

Player's List might be dangerous. Sure he has never hit the exacta in 10 lifetime starts, but the jock also hasn't won a route race in two years. Talk about being due.

Best of luck to Medaglia d'Onore.

The jock might have trouble winning a route race because she is a bodybuilder and rides anywhere between 125-to-134 pounds.

Player's List is the 122 pound highweight in the race ... and it's odds-on the jock is atleast 2 pounds over.

Grabbed a quarter with his little stumble at the break, plus he's got a bit of a sore shin this morning. Bad day all around.

This is one of the commonest failings among trainers; however good a horseman/woman you are and however fit your charges are, you aren't going to win if they aren't placed where they can compete. An honest and clear-eyed evaluation of how good your horse is compared to its prospective rivals is the biggest difference between an okay trainer and a good one.

Pretty much no is the answer.

Think about how much money Teuflesburg could have raked in if he had been properly placed through most of his 3yo campaign....
