Well, the Turfway horses have gotten in alot more work than the CD Training horses (who are trotting in barns) I don't know who was based where out of that race.

If you can watch the head-on angle, about 1/2 of the way down the stretch Diego went to the left-handed whip about three times in a row and she responded by swerving hard to the right. Rider then had to check/steady her to keep her from running into the horse to her outside. At this point it looked like Diego eased up on her the rest of the way home. Half way down the stretch she looked to have a good chance for a 3rd place finish until this happend. She was out of the frame when this happend on the live video feed at the track. Only visible in the head-on. Anyway, good to see "pills", and spend the afternoon with Chuck and Dave. Benny:

Did you get to go to the Cinn/ND game last night? Good outcome for the home team. The northern KY cold has made its way east to the mid atlantic.

Tim..CDT has not had a work or the track open since 1/25..Turfway has had workouts on 1/25,26,29,30,and 1-4.....Not saying it affected Rampillion, but to say horses stabled at the two tracks have had equal training opportunities isn't true.

The "tracked four wide" part didn't help any.

Heard from Chuck after the race. The lost days of training were always a concern. He had hoped that the workout on the 25th would be enough of a tightener to make up for the lost training time, but she was clearly short. Was disappointing, but she came out fine other than being tired. More later when he gets back to Louisville...

Hey, well good news she's still ours and came out fine - so that counts as a work and on to the next! Thanks for the update.

She was dull beforehand and got very tired. Afterwards in the receiving barn she laid down and sprawled out which you rarely see, especially when a horse isn't in its own stall. We have attempted to keep her moving but jogging in the barn simply isnt enough exercise for some horses. The problem is that if we dont keep her racing then we fall further and further behind with the lack of training. CDT and the other dirt tracks in KY have been pretty much unusable for the last month while TP has only missed a few days of training. Unless the weather turns soon we may go another few weeks without much training.

Great to see Chuck, TC and Benny on this very cold Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately not the outcome we were hoping for today, but we live to race another day. Photos will be posted upon my return to VA tomorrow.

Here's to some warmer weather.

Chuck,

Don't know the in's and out's and clearly the logistics are not ideal, but what about using the Kee Poly or Kee Training Track to get the work in? Have heard the Kee training Track does wonders for many.
