I think of breeding as an indicator of what you MIGHT expect when a horse is trying something for the first time. After they are on the track and show what they can or can't do, I throw breeding out of the window.

You'd think that after watching an Elusive Quality and Tale of the Cat go 1-2 in the Derby, people would realize things have changed.

I bet if there was a debuting son of King Glorious that's a half to Lammtarra, KG here would be the first person at the windows that day to bet it.
