Nicanor grabbed a quarter leaving the gate...
How long does it take a horse to recover from that generally? I'm sure it depends on how badly he nailed himself. The Jacksons can't catch a break with that starting gate. Nicanor tried though, bless'im. Couldn't have felt too good. I can only imagine how Edgar felt given he was on Barbaro's brother and the horse felt uncomfortable.

If only other horses would ever try. I'm glad to finally have one born that tries. God bless Nicanor.

You gotta love overhyped blue bloods. They always help create value elsewhere on the board.

Oh cute a snide remark. Gee, wasn't expecting that. No no really. one would never guess that from you. All those unicorns and rainbows on your wallpaper really throw people off.

Who would have thought a horse that lost a maiden by so many lengths would have five pages worth of discussion.

he's gotten far more attention since day one than he ever should have; certainly never earned any of it.

i understand that rock slide is off his feed, he's sore about it all.

nicanor has a far better shot at being a second holy ground than he does at being anywhere close to being another barbaro.

I understand how it came about, and those of us know siblings in horse racing don't necessarily emulate their elders too well.

But I think it speaks to a larger issue... there was a grade one race yesterday, and an unraced horse stole the show. Did an unraced horse ever steal the show from Forego, Secretariat, Man O War, Spectacular Bid etc... it's where racing is today.

What interesting (actually, it's not, it's pathetic) is that there were so many threads (here and elsewhere) about This One For Phil, his performance and the juicing issue. And yesterday we have TRULY UNFAIR CONDITIONS, a track bias at GP, that impacted upon TWO of their major races YET

nobody gives a **** about THIS UNFAIRNESS. Only whether some INDIVIDUAL is juicing. You take the JUICE and I'll take the BIAS and we'll see who wins, EVERY TIME.

I also agree that very few horses emulate their siblings. People are looking for Barbaro Part 2, and that's not going to happen.

I think you're gonna get Holy Ground 2 judging by the connections' discussion of how he's more physically like that sibling than Barbaro. Could be worse. (And if the peanut gallery could keep it together after that last sentence...well I'll be stunned, what can I say.) Sounds like Lentenor's getting more buzz as the second coming and he's got some charisma from what I saw in the Bloodhorse video.

I was thinking the same thing Travis, especially considering there was only 3 pages devoted to my Bday thread...and that didnt even include a birthday wish from Andy
