Miss San Lilli, a 3 yr. old filly yesterday at the Fairgrounds. Thankfully it looks like Donnie Meche will be ok after being stepped on by the horse behind him.

Joe Crispin, who has been the leading rider at Portland Meadows the past two seasons, will be out for an estimated six to eight weeks with a cracked hip. He sustained the injury in the track’s third race Dec. 29 when his mount, Dynamite Ollie, clipped heels and fell.

Dynamite Ollie suffered a life threatening leg injury and was euthanized.

Mysterious Green, 4 years old, in the Heritage House Selling Handicap (R1) today at Fakenham.

"We thought we would win the first race, but the horse was seriously injured. He broke a leg and sadly had to be destroyed." - trainer Milton Harris.

No word on 6 year old mare Gouranga, who fell in the same race.

Heelbolt shattered his left front ankle in the first race at the Fairgrounds, an allowance sprint on the turf course, and was euthanized.

In the fifth race, for $5,000 claimers, Silver Nat broke his left front leg while running on the final turn and was euthanized. Jockey James Graham, who was thrown from Silver Nat and appeared to be struck by the trailing Fabulous Freebord, rode in the next race. Graham took off the rest of his mounts. Britt McGehee, his agent, said after the races that Graham felt stiffness but was hopeful about riding Thursday.

As I said in the waiting thread this is highly unusual at the Fairgrounds, I think a black cloud is hanging over Gentilly.
