So what is a 78?

Dick Clark's Bandstand used to have 2 new debut songs a show that they gave airtime to as the king of early rock promoted 2 songs a show during the 60's and maybe the late 50's. Two random kids would "Rate a Record" with scores up to the high 90's I believe.

It was intended to make the grandparents among us chuckle!!
