I'm 6'4' 290lbs. What the heck am I going to say to him about riding racehorses?

I think he'll be fine. If working hard and being a good person helps then I KNOW he'll be fine.

Picked up mounts in two upcoming Grade 1's today. We're really looking forward to that.

Excellent thread continues.

Good luck to you and your jockey Vic. I have been watching him for a while now and his ROI has been up there with the best.

Cheers.

DerbyCat and I both took note of Joel Rosario's riding abilities up here in NorCal a couple of meets back.

It's always nice to note an unknown jockey with talent before the rest of the world does.

Especially when betting exotics.

The less unknown he is the better I'm doing my job. I'm going to miss living the better part of the year in Marin. It's home.

Thanks for the props for Joel.

This thread has gotten beyond ridiculous. Rosario isn't a bad jock..in fact he does win a lot and sure does have a promising future. My point was...and perhaps you will agree....if he stayed on the inside instead of making the wide move, he wins. I thought it was a bad move. Maybe because of it being a Grade I he got somewhat nervous. I think there is a reason guys like Gomez,Prado,Alan Garcia, etc get/win Grade I mounts/wins. They have proven themselves in the big races. Rosario hasn't....yet.

Some of the replies on here are borderline insane. People are acting like CE is some monster horse. Newsflash...he isnt. One brainiac said CE is 20 lengths better than Obrigado. I guess some people on here just want to overlook when they met in Jan when CE won, but not by much.

The best one though is that Obrigado lost not because of the trip...but because he was 22-1. That is hall of fame material.

Actually the quote was On class, Champs is 20 lengths better than Obrigado. Class is the operative word in the sentence. Now, there is a little hyperbole in the sentence obviously as 20 lengths is a pretty arbritrary number.

I would say a quick look at the pps would support that contention. Now, if you want to continue to throw insults, I can go there as well. Surely you can make your point without the garbage.

What Classy races has CE won?

How is he 20 lengths better "On Class" when they have met twice and although CE has won, he hasnt won by much at all.

This "Class" thing of yours is ridiculous. It's not like Obrigado hs been running in Allowance races his whole career and is now moving up to a Grade I.

I suggest you look at the pp's before you make ridiculous comments like this.

As far as the insults....if you say something stupid I will call you a moron. If you cant handle it move on.

That first comment shows your complete lack of knowledge. He won the a grade 1 in september you illiterate imbecile.

Champs has won multiple graded stakes and placed numerous times in grade 1's. What has Obrigado's company been? He won a weak grade 2 in so cal over a seven horse field in feb 07 and hasnt done much since in much less company.

When you and your buddy get done teabagging each other, talk to me about who the moron is.

Was that better Antritrust?

Question for you Miss Expert. Are Grade I's run in Canada recognized as Grade I wins when it comes to breeding, records, etc?

Please answer this you moronic sorry excuse for a horseplayer.

Lets see......CE has:

Won The San Marcos where Obrigado finished a close 3rd

Beat Obrigado with a PERFECT trip by 1/2 length.

Ran second to last then in 2 grade I's.

Won a "Grade I" in Canada vs a bad bad field.

Ran a bad 3rd vs a simliar field in Canada next out.

Some monster.

Now, does Obrigado have a better record? No. But he has been running in grade I's and II's as well and has run ok. To suggest that CE is 20 lengths better on class is moronic.

I am sorry if I have made you look like a complete jack@sss, but honestly...you made it easy.

I just posted you an article from ESPN and horseplayerpro.com that says quote "He has a gigantic class edge over this entire field and has earned over $1.2 million in his career".

Again, if you can read, there is a quote from frankel here:

http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...o-turf-cup-win

"He waits on horses but when that horse got to him he went on again"

We arent talking about breeding so dont change the subject idiot. The canadian race was a grade 1 as is this last win.

Again, when you get the leather out of your mouth, ask someone to read this to you. Do you have anything published that supports your contentions?

Since arriving to the US, Obrigado as a 3 year old.

3rd in grade 3 Will Rogers
5th in grade 3 Cinema
Won listed Oceanside
2nd in Grade 2 Del mar Derby
2nd in Grade 2 Oak Tree Derby
2nd in Grade 1 Hollywood Derby

As a 4 year old

3rd in Grade 2 San Marcos
Won grade 2 San Luis Obispo (beating that rat On The Acorn)
13th in Grade 1 Dubai Sheems Classic
3rd in Grade 1 Charlie Whittingham
5th in Grade 2 Northern Dancer
7th in grade 2 Del mar handicap
2nd in an Allowance race
4th in grade 1 Hollywood turf Cup, beaten 5 3/4 by Champs Elysees
As a 5 year old

3rd in San Marcos, beaten 1 1/4 by Champs Elysees
5th in Grade 2 San Luis Rey followed by layoff until November
3rd in an allownace race

Champs Elysees

As a 4 year old

2nd in Grade 1 Hollywood Turf Cup (Not beating Obrigado by 20 lengths)
1st in Grade 2 San Marcos (Beating Obrigado by just shy of 20 lengths, like 18 lengths short)
3rd in Grade 1 Snata Anita Handicap
2nd in Grade 2 Jim Murray (To that rat On The Acorn at 2-5)
6th in grade 1 Charlie Whittingham (at 4-5)
6th in Grade 1 United nations (at 6-5)
1st in grade 1 northern Dancer
3rd in grade 1 Canadian International
8th in Grade 1 BC Classic

Now, anyone can see that Champs Elysees has faced better horses. However, it's not as though he's been real competive with true Grade 1 company. Is he 20 lengths better on class? Absolutely not. In my opinion it's about 3-4 lengths. Which, coincidentally is about what Dala thought obrigado lost going outside instead of in. Hmmmm.....

I am starting to feel bad about ripping on this Dala person. It's like picking on someone after they get off of the short bus at school each day.
