If it doesn't get hit Tuesday, then what's your estimate of the amount of carryover going into the next card? Can it get to a 4k or 5k pool tomorrow, and if it does, what's the size of the pool on that next card? I mean what's typical?

The payoff on the pick 5 carryover(Balmoral) on Saturday Night was about 4x win parlay. I'd prefer the 4x win parlay on the pick 4 carryovers, but(obviously) they aren't gunna be carrying over as often.

If the carryover covers the takeout then you rate to get just over 2 times the parlay. Assuming my above example, the horse with 16.6K in a 100K pool at 4:1 goes to almost exactly 5:1 in a no takeout situation, and thus creates a parlay payout of $2592....or just over twice the $1250 straight parlay.

Do I have this right? You don't play Haw or AP but do Balmoral?

Well, if there is a pick 4 carryover at Hawthorne, then I will try. I have never found an ounce of value there. Everything appears to be either too hard, or too easy. When there is something in the middle, I always get atleast 2 points less than I should (in odds.) Every damn time I see something I like there, it's bet, bet, bet, bet, bet. So, no, I don't like it. Cheap racing with short value is for other people to partake in. The races seem so long there that I know people would be interrupting races with phone calls. Honestly, watching Christine Janks bring in chalk after chalk is some kind of local Chicago pleasure. I Think this is a case of you loving an ugly baby, because (simply put)it's your ugly baby. If your main driver is present at Chicago harness, then I can get pick 4 singles very easily. It's a much harder game if he isn't present. The p4 Wednesday Night at Balmoral was 13.5x win parlay....Last Saturday it was 2x win parlay....It was 4.5 win parlay on the 19th. Last Saturday, the pick 5 paid 4x win parlay. If you can say that about Chicago Thoroughbred, then I'll wade through the poo, and put some tickets in. As far as Harness goes(in general,) I usually only play the few large (mile) tracks. The short tracks are mainly chalk festivals, because the outside posts are pretty much not in the running for the win. So, I don't partake in your jewel called Maywood.

Fair enough but IMO the only thing Balmoral is good for is a trial run for fixing the BC pic 6.

Yea, but if you don't try to cap so tightly, then you'll hit some of that. Like the horse in the 4th on Wednesday was pretty shady, but the 2nd n' 3rd legs were easy. The 1st leg winner was scheduled to be ridden by the main driver. Everybody ignored it when the substitute driver got on. For that it pays 10.7K. I am not seeing that at Chicago T'BRED.

Tried the pick 4 carryover at Hawthorne today. No way I can get Samson the Great. As usual, the track is a bonfire.

i would guess with it tuesday and not much other action going on today, probably atleast 5 or 6 more goes into it today.

the best situation is when there is a carryover going into sundays races. because so few people play us on sundays as compared to monday and tuesday, that you'll have 7 or 8k carry'd over, and only maybe 2000 worth of bets going in, so if you can get any.....and i mean any seperation from the chalk, you can take down the whole pool. We had one on a sunday go for 9 thousand that was 2/1, 7/2, 9/5, 7/2, 9/5

Maybe I have a bias that favors the middle class.

http://www.balmoralpark.com/ShowResu...esults_ID=1665

11-26 pick 4 at Balmoral (races 1-4 ) paid 10,724 for a buck. The win parlay is only what? About $400? Somebody's having a Happy Thanksgiving. No carryover...Just very lucky...get 10k for picking horses in a $1 win parlay that would pay $400.
