Is that J.T, O'Sullivan busting his ass? He did that on the previous play they showed... his fumble. Trying to save his job, I guess. Didn't happen. One turnover too make for Mike Singletary.

The one right before the half, Vernon Davis.

the only thing messed up about him dropping his pants is that it was leaked out of the locker room.

IF you just took a stupid penalty and a HOF MLB was chewing your ass, would you be stupid enough to mouth off at him once let-alone twice?
i heard the SF beat reporter on the radio. he reported alot of laziness and "me first". davis is a major offender, singletary was not in postion before to do anything about it. he is now.

Fair enough, maybe the guy is a malcontent and he doesn't care about the team. Maybe Singletary is also taking a crack at one of the bigger/better names on the roster to serve notice to the rest of the squad.

As far as the other question goes, I think the majority of the players care. There is so much dedication that surrounds football, that I would think it would be hard not to care. But there is a handful of guys (and maybe Davis falls into this category) that don't give a damn about anything besides themselves. In the last couple of weeks I have seen Plaxico Burress, sign a very big contract and then miss a practice, a treatment and pretty much tell the Head Coach to go F himself. This while playing for a champion team who has a good shot a repeating. Pretty selfish, he bitched about a contract for the last 2 years and finally gets it. Then he starts pulling crap. I am sure there are many others.

Basically, nothing suprises me with these guys. They make lots of money and a couple of them constantly do stupid $hit on and off the field.

that's why the steelers got rid of that piece of crap. personally, i'd like to see guys like burress, k. winslow, c. henry and pacman jones run out of the league.
a lot of the problem is those BIG rookie contracts. vernon davis is prime example, #6 overall pick.

Obviously I am extremely biased. But Plax did play hurt all of last season, not to mention his huge game in GB when he was unstoppable. I don't condone what he has pulled this season, but I think the guy is a stud. I really believe that he is a top 5 reciever in the leauge. I just wish he would put his head on straight and get onboard with the rest of the team. There was talk this week of him starting to see the light, let's hope he does.

the guy has talent no question, when his head's not up his rear-end.

How can you compare Burress and winslow with henry and pacman?

Neither Winslow nor Burress have ever had problems with drugs or major scrapes with the law. Theyve had their issues, internal team issues, but hardly stuff that would label either of them bad guys. If I had a team, I would take both of those guys.

For the record, the steelers didnt get rid of Plax and they would have loved to have kept him. They just couldnt pay him.

the steelers wouldn't pay and he opted out. they were sick of his crap. winslow and burress both have had run ins with the law. winslow had the motorcycle crashed with no license or registration AND violated his contract.

This isn't exactly true. They made him a low ball offer that if he accepted, they would have been happy to keep him. In reality, they would not pay what he demanded because his character issues and potential for problems were not worth the risk.

Singletary's shtick so far seems contrived to me. I could picture him rehearsing that post-game speech in the mirror at halftime. I think he's gonna be a horrendous head coach.

He played all those years for Ditka... I think he's using some of Ditka's schtick. Contrived? I don't know... but it certainly got everyone's attention. We'll see how much effect it had by seeing how well the Niners play for the rest of the season. If he can get everyone on board, he's not a horrendous head coach. He might just burn out, like Ditka did....
