Can someone explain why the Met Mile is still considered a "great stallion-making race":

maybe you need to go further back in the list, since the last few years' winners have just gotten their second career started? too soon to tell what some of those guys will do as sires. i'd imagine tho that they call it a stallion making race because it seems many like milers for sires, and the met mile is certainly our preeminent mile race.
