Amazing thing is most of them are still several years from free agency. And the ones that get close that they can't afford they could deal for more prospects to keep the cycle going. They have such a stockpile of young talent that through shrewd trading they could stay a top team without having to pay them. Five years of success and they might develop enough of a fanbase to then start spending big money.

They dont have the park for it. They will certainly need a park and can you imagine that city helping to finance a new one?

How about they start selling it out on a consistent basis before you start the whining about the city not financing a new ballpark.

We won't tell you what happens.

The Bills game lost power today at the stadium and the same thing happened, so I was watching the helmets move on NFL.com about an hour behind the actual result...

ror!!

I don't even know why I bother. You get nothing for 3 hours and then they post the whole game at warp speed and you can't even see what they are trying to say.

LOL. thats not what i meant. Ive been to that ballpark. It is an abomination. It is an affront to all the things that are great about the game.

The city paid big bucks to build that stadium in the first place and it sat for a long time and I doubt they would shell out again no matter how good the team is.

No stadium, no money.

Hasn't stopped them from filling the place tonight. When they start getting at least 75% capacity every night then they can start their whining. They may be World Series champs this year with a 52.8% stadium capacity. People want a good team, not a bunch of empty luxury boxes (which they will be with the recession).

What are you talking about snipe? Im not arguing with you. My point is that they will never have the money to go get players or even sign their own without stadium dollars.

My point is if they can keep a young nucleus together that can compete for the next five years then they might average more than 22,000 a night and would be in a much better position to get a new ballpark. New ballpark or not they are never going to be better than 10-15 range in payroll, that's still a hell of an improvement over where they are now though.
