Then again, maybe it will be Phili-Tampa. I do know one thing.....this entire post makes me want to make a huge bet on the Phillies.

As sick as it makes me feel as a Met fan, I think this is the Phillies' year.

I'm rooting for them the rest of the way. The fans in Philly deserve it. Anybody that would actually pay money to see a baseball game at the Vet should have had a championship ages ago (kind of like Shea ).

I wouldn't bet too much on any Philly sports team in a playoff series and/or championship game.

You're clearly not reading the Scioscia thread down in the sports forum

I read the first post where Ateam blamed the manager because a major leauger couldn't manage to drop a bunt.

Randy Moss not only would have been able to lay down a simple bunt and save his manager from undue BS - but he also might have been able to beat it out for a single with his Commentator like speed.

And I mean the white Moss this time.

I think I hold the Erie County record for strikeout to at-bat ratio .. but I've never whiffed on a damn bunt attempt.

15 minutes of excitement packed in every 4 hours of baseball

162 meaningless games later and it will be Christmas before the Championship is decided

In your opinion, they weren't gunna be around long against the Cubs, either. It's a good match-up for us. Certain teams are better for us than others. One thing I guarantee is I ain't gunna btch if they get beat. They've been great, and I appreciate how far they've come. If we can't get there, that's the team(Phils) I would have liked to see get there. Both organizations were overdue for some luck.

Remember, we have Ryan Madson!

Home field advantage will play a HUGE role in this series IMO. The Phils rely on the long ball, as they are one of the worst small ball teams in the game. This year, when they played in LA, a few of those long outs would have been dingers at The Bank.

I am very eager to get this thing going. God bless my brothers old yellow Aramark jersey. Yes, im going the cheapo route, and wearing it to get in free. They shipped in alot of new workers from DC/Baltimore area for the Brewers series, and assume they will be doing the same for this one. Lots of new faces. My brother Danny got in free to game 2 using the jersey. Pretty hilarious.

Yeah, Madson was dealing, and Charlie took him out. That was stupid. Gave us that game. You haven't faced us with both Manny n' Furcal. Hamels is pitching better now, though. We know we got to get to the other guy(Myers ) early on. I can see the series going either way, but your starters will have to pitch great. Our starters will be tough if they get any early runs. We still got a bad taste about the last 2 games in Philly. We don't like that memory. That was the 3rd-4th loss in our 8 in a row losing streak. We didn't like that. That memory is fresh as fkn Downy. We are hungry for Philly. If we lose, it won't be because we can't get our emotions back up from the previous series. We've been waiting to play you again. We blew the great game that Kuroda threw against you. We'll be up to play you. It should be a war. All tune in. We got a score to settle.

I would rather tune into a 65 and over curling match than watch a World Series between the Rays and Phillies. The Breeder's Cup is now in no danger of losing any Horse racing fan to this ratings debacle the World Series will turn out to be.

No offense, but I'll watch the Rays in a World Series but will/would not have watched a game of the Carmines again.

to each his own, but the Rays are a great story and an exciting team, and that's coming from a White Sox fan

That's you, and as people are saying, "to each their own", but we'll see what the ratings say.

I always kind of chuckle at the ratings. Nobody ever asked me what I watch. How relevant are they? Who do the ratings actually represent?

That said, no doubt Boston is more "popular" than Tampa, but using ratings as a yardstick is not the best way of measuring that popularity.
