Are you sure about Sanata? I thought he was making 12 million and now it goes to the 22-23 million per year range.

2008 - $19 million
2009 - $20 million
2010 - $21 million
2011 - $22.5 million
2012 - $24 million
2013 - $25.5 million
2014 - $25 million (team could buyout for $5.5 million)

2014 could become a player option if Santana pitches 215 innings in 2013 or averages over 210 in 2011 to 2013.

He was making $13.25 on his old deal before he renegotiated, that may be where the confusion comes from.

It is sooooo nice having CC and Santana out of the AL Central...Imagine having to face both those guys 4-5 times a year? That's why the White Sox are the powerhouse they were this year

Not bad for working 34 days a year. And his arm could fall off tomorrow and he'll stick collect all $137.5 million.

It will be interesting if CC has a good post season to see what he will get. He already has earned himself some big $ after coming over to the Crew.

He certainly earned it but I have to imagine teams will be wary after how much he pitched for the Brewers. He managed to throw an extra 17 IP in one extra start after the All Star break than Santana did and Santana was overworked down the stretch. Ultimately it will depend who targets him. I have a feeling the Mets will stay out which means if either the Red Sox or Yankees decide not to get heavily involved he might not get as much money as he deserves.
