Dodger road announcers( the worst possible....f'n half blind Charlie Steiner and another guy) always talk s-h-i-t about Shea. What is it that's makes it so awful? Just wondering.

Dodger Stadium opened in '62, and Shea in '64. They've updated Dodger Stadium somewhat, but I don't know anyone who wants it torn down. Did they build Shea on the cheap, or what?

Building it next to an airport wasnt the greatest of ideas

I remember as a kid seeing the Mick play in the old stadium when the pillars blocked the views.

Kubec to Richardson - Richardson to Skowron

Wait - I can't be that old...yikes

Scuds, Dodger stadium is a baseball only facility while Shea was built for the Jets & Mets. Pretty much every multi-sport facility sucks for baseball, and is better for football. This is the reason 3 Rivers, The Vet, Riverfront, J. Murphy etc... were all mediocre at best for baseball.

At least they realized these 2 sport facilities are crappy for baseball and they don't build them anymore. The bad thing is, as tax payers we're paying for 2 new stadiums in every major city.

No argument there. Yankee Stadium is still very viable and the new Yankee seems like a blatant ripoff with cleaner bathrooms.

Just about everything. It's a football stadium so the seats don't face the right way, the sightlines are awful, the bathrooms suck, the corridors are about 10 feet wide, and it's massive so theres no intimacy.
