First thing is I will admit that he is very well spoken. As far as the black preching thing goes, the answer is a little yes and a little no. It was a cross of being at a Bruce Springsteen concert (when he does that whole preching bit during one of his songs {not a big enough fan to tell you which one}). And from what goes on in church. Also the whole Jeremiah Wright is still in the back of my mind. I still don't think that we have seen the last of that. He did only seemed to do it during the last couple of minutes of his speech.
I will also say that I wouldn't have a problem with a black President or VP. I think that Condi Rice could be an excellent runing mate for Mccain.
But as far as Oboma goes I just don't think he has any substance, or maybe he is saving all the details for late in the game. But it seemed to me that John Kerry had more detailed plans and he still ended up with the short end of the stick.

I like your take. Very honest!

I think he knows, just like all candidates, that being realistic doesnt get you elected. Being "realistic" would require him to say "look, its going to take us at least four years to get us out of this mess that our economy is in".

Certainly not inspiring.

But wouldn't that be maybe the biggest CHANGE people could ask for. The TRUTH! Otherwise he is just being another politician.

Idealistically, yes. But he will be able to do more good with his ideas/ideals in office than not. The Truth is a one way ticket to not being elected.

Part of McCain's problem is that he is being too honest about Iraq. Anyone with a brain knows that Obama cant get those troops out that quickly.
