I watched some of the game tonight and just couldn't believe how many men they left on base. They just couldn't get a hit to save their asses. Also Hershiser made a good point about how it just looks like the Dodgers are going through the motions. You would never know that they are in a pennant race. No one plays with any intensity or fire. Sure enough after that, Kent hit a ball that should have been a double, but since he loafed out of the box he only ended up on first. Next guy hit into a DP. Scuds is that true about the intensity? Also if it is, Torre is not a guy that will light fires under guys asses. He never had to in NY and he probably won't start in LA. Now Bowa on the other hand.

People just don't play well for us. Why? I don't know why. Look at Manny. He is choke city now. When they come here they start choking big time. You're talking about hitting though, and the Dodgers are a pitching-based team. I may seem like a lunatic when I talk about it, but you can't have a big fat choker like Broxton in your organization. It wears on everybody on the team. You should note that the young man now says he has mechanical issues. The guy has been a choker for 2 years now. He started to choke 2 years ago, and has kept it up for 2 years. So, really, I think the fact the organization has tolerated a choker on the pitching staff is a huge issue. It shows a weakness in desire, and a willingness to constantly rely on hope. Hope is the most immature emotion we have as humans. They wrap themselves in hope. I don't care if they go 10-21 from here on in, but I would like to see them do it without Broxton. This is professional sports, and he is not competitive enough inside. That is a huge issue. We all know he is a choker, but he is allowed to pitch for the L.A. Dodgers. What message are you sending the other players? If you have a restaurant on a busy night, and somebody is really not doing a good job at all, then what happens? The other people stop working as hard as they would. When they see someone allowed to stay in a position they aren't doing a good job at, then it destroys morale thru-out the whole business. So, to answer your question, I think the players are disgusted that Broxton keeps blowing games. They don't feel very good about the whole situation. It's tough to keep a team together when they don't have confidence in the person the team has to rely on to close-out games. I think that's a huge problem(tolerating a choker in an important position shows the other players that the management is no good at all.) See, stupid is when you repeat mistakes. Well, they keep sending a guy out there that's blown 7 saves. That's pretty stupid isn't it? Would you have respect for the people you play for if they tolerated this piece of s-h-i t representing your organization? They should of released him today. Told the players to produce right now. In other words, the management here is too lax. Too reliant on hope, and too tolerant of poor clutch play. They get exactly what they deserve. They left this cancer on this staff, and he has remained a choker. It spreads thru-out the clubhouse. They must dump him. They keep tolerating this, and he will never change unless he gets a boot up his a-s-s. They tolerate s-h-i-t performances. They think they will get better..get better..get better. That really doesn't work. You must demand quality if you want it, and this organization sort of hopes quality will come without discipline. It hasn't. Soon as they go on the road they tank. They show zero in the tank. If the organization isn't pissed about losing, then do you think the players are going to be? Each one of these guys sees them tolerate Broxton. It's shows disrespect to them to keep him on the team. Last edited by SCUDSBROTHER : 08-25-2008 at 11:09 PM. |

Also, let me say that I have had it up to my ears with the bulls-h-i-t things this owner comes up with to distract people. Cancer telethon, clinic this n' that. Think Cure. Let me tell you what it shows everyone. It shows people that come to the games that it's o.k. to think about this other stuff at baseball games. It isn't. You should be there for one reason, and that's to win baseball games...period. Don't distract people away from the play of the team by having all this other bulls-h-t stuff going on. Win, and if you don't, then be in pain, and change. Don't distract people away from the play of this team. The owner is worrying about cancer. That's not the L.A. DODGERS JOB. The organization is suppose to be there to win. You need to be scouting , scouting, scouting and demanding top play. Not worrying about cancer. The people who come to games should be worried about 1 thing. The Dodgers...Not Cancer....Not re-designing this or that. Worry about one thing the W. There is not enough of that going on. That owner and his boney btch loudmouth wife get what they deserve, and that's nothing. If you ever heard him talk, you would see it's all that positive b-u-lls-h-t that doesn't work when you have 1 piece of meat, and 2 dogs that want it. Perform, or get rid of people.

I think people who don't play sports don't realize how important it is to be able to hold a lead late in games. It really is not just 1 game. When teams get embarrassed by blowing saves, they can rebound against another team, but it's tough to rebound against the team that came back on you. The team usually thinks they can do this again, and if they think that, then they probably will. This is why you can't ignore Broxton . You can't keep him on your staff. A good example is Frisco. They know he is a weak btch, and they are on him like white on rice. They have raped him, and they know he is scared they will do it again. That owner, his wife, the G.M....None of them understand how much this game is about fear, intimidation, respect, and lack of respect. They don't understand that if you show weakness, then you must cut that weakness out like a cancer. They don't get that. They tolerate weak people on their club, and when other clubs see that tolerance of weakness, it's like blood to a beast. When they keep Broxton on the team it shows other teams that the Dodgers are weak, and they are right. They don't understand the perception of weakness, and it's impact on other teams. There is no place for mercy in pro sports. Maybe he can pitch for another team. That's the best thing for all involved. Those 7 blown saves are all reasons why the team that came back on him thinks they can beat the Dodgers. If he isn't around anymore, then you lessen your disadvantage when you face them. He has to go. He is weakness. Hit him with a wrench, and throw him overboard, or the ones who want him for dinner will take you with him. He can pitch. The talent is there, but he is not a competitor on the inside. Please leave, and don't come back to the place you were weak at. In pro sports, an individual this weak inside is about as valuable as a Chicken Female part.

I've never seen anybody stay as bad at his craft as this Charlie Steiner. I guess his vision is total s-h-i-t, cuz to him every flyball is "hit deep." He(and the guy who Fox demoted due to something he said to Piniella) does road games east of the Rockies, cuz Vin Scully doesn't want to do it. If Scully kicks it, our we gunna get this guy all the time? Can't be. He is really bad. He might beat Bryant Gumbel. That's it.

I think Broxton should date that cow on ESPN that puts twice the correct amount of make-up on her cheeks. It's like she is painting with it. Shelly Smith, right? LOL...Damn, that gal is determined to keep plastering that stuff on more n' more.

http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/ne...t=.jsp&c_id=la ^^This is the problem. FKN fool can't figure out the guy has been choking for over 2 years now. It's not particularly about his position of closer. I don't think he is any more scared now than he would be in the 7th or 8th inning. He is simply a born choker. You can't just ignore this. As you can see, they are ignoring it. They will continue to take the punishment for their stupidity. Organization coddles players who should be gotten rid of. He can't stop choking. He would if he could. He can't. Blown 7saves , and surely will get to 10 or more this year. BTW, since you bring Kent's name up, notice how he couldn't get a hit with men in scoring position, but did it when nobody was on. As far as a difference maker goes, he is incredibly overrated. In my opinion , he will be the 2nd -4TH worst player to ever go into the HOF( PEREZ #1.) Last edited by SCUDSBROTHER : 08-26-2008 at 04:31 AM. |
