Having gone to the trouble of running a drink recipe contest and coming up with "Cooler" as the principal name, wouldn't it have made sense to call it the "Canoe Cooler" or even just "Travers Canoe"... thereby tying it to the race's major historical theme? They could add to the appeal by making up stir sticks/mint muddlers in the shape of canoe paddles..

If I'm betting on Travers Day, the last thing I'm gonna buy is a drink called the "Travers Cooler". Talk about asking for bad luck...no thanks.

Steve, you have way too much time on your hands. Forget all this stuff. Go upstairs to the bar just before the caroselle above your tent. There is a woman bartender who makes a great Saratoga Margarita.
