Johnson (1-1) got one out two days after throwing 87 pitches over 4 1/3 innings in a 9-3 victory over the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers used five relievers and had two left, but manager Joe Torre was saving closer Jonathan Broxton and Hong-Chih Kuo was unavailable after pitching five times in eight days.
"They asked me to go out there, I'll go out there," Johnson said. "It's the big leagues, you know." It's obvious this Johnson wasn't prepared to pitch 2 days after throwing 87 pitches. This is such stubborn bullshit by an old man who made his mind up that this game wasn't a must win, and I think any game you can win right now is a must win. I think it's the worst decision-making I have seen from a manager in a long time. Fact is Kuo had 56 hours rest. That is enough in a pennant race. |

Lowe was throwing batting practice tonite, and Joe just sat there until he gave up 8 runs. Wants to be liked by his pitchers too much.

This LOHSE guy is 13-3 since signing a 1 year contract with St.Louis? Doesn't this make that Duncan guy the best pitching coach ever? Either he is, or they have the best pitching drugs in the world. That piece of crap Weaver won World Series games there, and ain't done sh-it since(or before.)

The other Dodgers don't deserve this stud(Manny.) He is by far the best Dodger hitter in a long time(most likely ever.) What a gift. We have the exact happy go easy rap/hip-hop-loving types to keep him comfortable(Kemp, Loney, Martin, and Manny seem like a happy bunch together.)
