Oh. But you know....McCain's comment about what he would do for the economy was that he would bring in an expert adviser....which shot off KYRIM like a rocket in partisan guffawing. Frankly I thought it was an honest and very practical response.....sssso....if Osama is going to tell us how deep he is in financial and social issues then I am putting my cynical cap on. |

look..I deserve the challenges because I make the comments I do. That's cool..But "right" and "wrong" here is personal opinion for the most part and that's never going to be agreed upon. There are black and white issues that McCain will line up on one side of and Obama on the other. If I didn't think Obama was a very capable presidential candidate, I wouldn't vote for him ( see Dukakis), but I do. Fortunately I think the lemming factor in both parties has minimized over the years and that's the way it should be.

Obama is getting an almost Christlike rise out of a lot
of younger folks. But this is not his fault. I like the fact, just as with McCain, that they are both willing to pick advisors with opinions that vary in order to make informed decisions. McCain and Obama are not experts. They are supposed to be leaders that can make appropriate decisions when informed properly. And I think they both will both get competent advise, unlike the current administration in which the President hired all his friends and had such loyality that he stuck by despite obvious incompetence. |

I am a Democrat and an Obama supporter, but there are some people out there who really seem to think that Obama's election will automatically mean the end of global warming, a positive revolution in American politics, a reversal of the slipping economy, the end of the heath care crisis, and solutions to countless other problems around the world. I am glad to see that these younger voters are getting involved (many for the first time), and I am glad they helped Obama defeat Clinton, but I think many of them will be sorely disappointed four years from now if Obama wins, because they are fooling themselves right now. There is just no way that EVERYTHING they are hoping for will happen. I agree with many of Obama's political positions, and therefore I think he will be a good president, but no one person could possibly live up to the expectations of some. In the end Obama IS a politician. He happens to be one I often agree with, but that doesn't mean he is going to be able to somehow rise above the political fray and miraculously change the world the way some of his most ardent supporters seem to believe. |
