You could be right, Oracle. If so, then he'll be ok on grass, because there are lots of nice middle distance turf races for him.....now and as an older horse. He's game when he wants to be - I really was impressed with his Santa Anita Derby and I believed he'd never have let Point Determined by in the San Felipe if they had gone around again.

Just got home and i'm glad to see the results since he was the single in the pick 4 for me. From the time of the race it looks like he had a monster run. I'll have to check the video later.

I think Oracle must be right. He is an AP Indy so it seems like he should be able to run all day. And maybe he IS able to do that and just doen't want to do it. I haven't seen the race but it seems ike it was a gutsy win. ESPN.com has a nice picture of the finish.

This is a very nice horse, and if kept within his distance limitations surely has many graded stakes race wins in his future. |

The closing fractions were insane - 5 and change? This time, AP closed from well off the pace -they can't make up their mind what to do with this horse. Press the pace? Be the pace? Lag off the pace? I say pick a style and stick with it.....of course, if APW simply makes up his own mind as to how he'll run that day, I guess there's nothing the jock can do.
