If Heatseeker wins the Gold Cup, he should IMO skip running on that Del Mar surface altogether, including the Pacific Classic.

Because the track is so heavy and different. It is a completely different surface from what he is going to try and win the BC Classic on. At beyond a mile at Del Mar the track starts to become an "extreme" surface. When you get to 10 furlongs it is something unique. He could very easily quit over the Del Mar surface and develop poor form.

However the owners already shipped this horse who may be the current horse most likely to win the BC Classic to Oaklawn to run on that surface, so I doubt he will skip anything.

Heatseeker could also get dusted in the Gold Cup and the point would be almost moot.

What other "Pro Ride" tracks are there in America? Are they only in Australia? What is it similar too?

Distracted by your display pic, but I have no idea. The ony Aussie races that I have played were turf. They added the pro ride mix over that crazy santa anita cushion and it went from a speed favoring runway to a closers paradise. With the faulty cushion, everyone was going 107 to six furlongs and no one was making up ground in the stretch. Once they added pro-ride it became closer friendly and most of the early speed were getting passed by wide stretch runners. Who knows how it will act with a re-done base?
