What Does Jerry Brown Know The Rest Of Us Don't....

This is not meant to be a declaration of incompetence
because obviously Beyer, Rags and Brown understand
horse racing and try to evaluate with numbers.

Have any of these guys had formal training in probablility
and statistics...? or did they just happen upon math because
it was useful for their interest trying to quantify races in
a more meaningful way?
