I posted this because I thought it would stimulate a little discussion on a lazy Tuesday afternoon on the subject and while I agree that Mr Brown sounds a little extreme at times, doesn't always seem to understand the science of venous acid base theory and has advocated measures that would seem to border on imperialism, he seems sincerely to be trying to remove the edge a select group of suspected offenders have that dishonors and cheapens the game.

If he is working closely with an administrative body it most likely is California as most of his comments are usually about the California circuit going so far as to suggest a boycott of providing TGH numbers for those tracks while not too long ago encouraging players not to play certain tracks.

How much of his motivation is to protect the integrity of his figures only he knows for sure but it doesn't seem to be his only reason to go public so often.

I thought it was not only newsworthy but was asking the board if it's members who are closer to these things whether they had more information than is currently published.

This is probably his quest to have TCO2 levels for all horses publically reported.

He's said on his list that Dr. Rick Arthur (California) has given him copies of TCO2 levels for horses tested in California, and he's requested that info from other jurisdictions (KY, NY, etc).

On his list he's said he believes that TCO2 levels well below the established illegal threshold moves horses up lengths and is performance-enhancing.

He's said he wants TCO2 levels published and public for every horse, every race, so one can identify the average levels for individual trainers (to identify "move-up" trainers).

He thinks that the currently established world-wide TCO2 overage levels should be lowered markedly.

I'd love to see that happen. To protect themselves from countersuits they have to set the threshold to be above the levels that any horse could ever possibly reach naturally. It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure things out if you are seeing a trainer consistently move up the TCO2 levels of their newly acquired horses.

The TG guy has had tests done to find out what the HIGHEST natural TCO2 level is within a horse, I think he said it was 37 whatevers....There was a horse in California as recently as last year that had like 62 whatevers, or something.

He has talked about that on the board. I am not 100% sure on those above numbers, but I think they are close...

That's where the threshold is now in all countries that test.

Brown thinks that threshold should be lowered.
