That's quite a list! Good work.

I particularily liked Glorious Song, what a mare she was.

Let's throw in 2 recent graded 1 winners, Jambalaya and Sky Conqueror.
I think Langfuhr was already mentioned, how about Alydeed? Apelia raced for Knob Hill Farms I think...Wilderness Song won the Spinster for Sam Son. Always a Classic won the that grass race the Early Times at Churchill. Victory gallop, Mt Sassasfras won the GP Hdcp..off the top that's it.

I was trying to remember if Glorious Song was a Canadian bred. Thanks.

Her brother wasn't too bad either.

In terms of impact of recent on the breed, an interesting way of looking at it is that there are currently only eight stallions that stand for more than $150,000. Two of them are Canadian-breds (Awesome Again and Smart Strike); two of them are by Canadian champions (Ghostzapper by Awesome Again, and Awesome Again by Deputy Minister). And let's not forget that the 2007 North American Champion 3YO, Older Mare, Turf Horse and Horse of the Year were all sired by irrelevant stallions born in Canada.

see, my original post above is a much shorter version of what i had originally. it included bits of what you have here....

thing is, northern dancer is one of the most influential sires ever. he's left his mark all over the world. sadlers wells was the predominant euro sire for YEARS, sired by the dancer.
danzig, top stakes sire in north america ever-also by nor. dancer. danehill, always gave sadler a run for his money, and put australian racing on the map-sired by danzig.
yeah, canadian horses suck...

i wonder what the # of horses bred in canada amounts to vs the us. i'd imagine percentage wise, they hold their own quite well.

and to sneer down your nose at the queens plate would be like sneering at the japan cup, or the ky derby. it's that countrys top race, and i'd imagine plenty of proud canadians dream of winning it.

You seem to be missing something.....most threads on message boards concerning every industry or topic on the internet are unimportant. It's just people shooting the sh it. It's meaningless by it's very nature.

Continually telling us how useless the conversations are is like telling some jerk reading a Victoria's Secret catalog that he's not going to bang any of the models.

While that wasn't my intent, in this case, I nonetheless hold out some hope that forums such as this might, at some point, be put to use analyzing races. With so many tracks out there, having a network of peers would be of great advantage; it would make the game a bit easier. Of course, I'm sure this is going on in a limited sense with those who actually play seriously.
