i'll be glad when he hits 610 to surpass sosa. he's gotten a bad rap in cincy, some people act like he would get hurt on purpose. but this guy has gone through a lot these last few year, and it's nothing short of a miracle that he's still playing.
it's scary to think what his numbers could have been, all while playing clean...

How can anyone possibly know that? This guy was a sick power hitter that broke down due to injuries. Completely fits the profile of a steroid user. I'm not saying he used them but for everyone to suggest he did it clean while not giving the benefit of the doubt to others makes no sense to me.

I'm sure next you are going to tell me that Derek Jeter never dabbled in steroids in 1999 when his slugging percentage jumped 70 points higher than at any other point in his career.

It is amazing how if you give a good interview to the media they give you a free pass and then the fans eat up everything the media feeds them.

Dude, Griffey was not a user, he was hitting bombs when he was 20 years old

Bonds was hitting bombs long before he ever touched a steroid. Plenty of players are still hitting bombs today that were using steroids several years ago. There's a remarkable increase in power in his fifth season after three straight years where he was extremely consistent. Could that have been a breakout year? Sure. Is it a little suspicious that after those consistent years his power numbers exploded at the same time as Barry Bonds, Juan Gonzalez, and Matt Williams did? I think so. Listen, I hope Griffey was clean and he probably was but I think it is ridiculous he is given a free pass when all the warning signs that get everyone else accused are there.

Wasn't the other major warning sign that Sosa, Ivan Rodriguez, McGuire, Clemens etc were also all bulking up and then shrinking? Admittedly I have not spent much time, nor plan to, studying the girth of Griffey's ass, but as a casual observer, it didn't seem like he blew up that much?

He was 185 as a rookie, 205 in 1992, and is 230 now.

You show me one person that kept his weight from the age of 19 to the age of 24, let alone 37 years old

195 as a rookie

I'd bet Wilt Chamberlain gained 100 pounds between the time he was 18 to when he retired.
