Sure horses point. Sometimes it means something and other times it means nothing. But a horse pointing while getting a bath and then walking off sound would be unusual to say the least. Most trainers dont know what they are looking at let alone media guys.

Trainers may be more aware of things like stomach ulcers, different types of shoes, etc. but as someone who would know but will remain nameless said to me a few years ago, "Most trainers nowdays learned from trainers that didnt know what the hell they were doing". Actually horsemanship is most certainly lacking. You dont measure that with win percentage as there are guys winning that really dont have a clue and there are guys not winning that simply have nothing to work with. To me claiming a horse, spending $1500 a month in vetwork and winning on the drop is not a display of great horsemanship but it will get you a nice win percentage.
