I think Daytona is in deep in the Shoemaker and the trainer is miscalculating. He makes his winning move on the turn and that gets really tough at a flat mile compared to 10 furlongs. There is plenty of speed to set it up for Hyperbaric who has run two solid but unlucky races for a guy who knows how to win this race.
I think Rutherienne is tough in the gamely, she seems to run slow or fast pace and just looks better then these. |

Daytona to hold off a late charge for the win. Will key heavy in the first slot of ex and tri with HC, MT, and TW with a modest reverse bet. Will single in p3 attempts as well. Will go all-8-all for a buck and sandwhich him with 8 other horses for a fin.(probably 4x1x2)...
Good luck and enjoy the day!!

not saying that Diamond Diva was the best in the Gamely stakes but i mean is there any reason to cut 22/45 fractions going a 1 1/8th, with no pressure?
Did someone not tell Smith it's a 1 1/8th race instead of a mile like the horse's previous 2 races? -bt- |

Hyperbaric ran a heck of a step up race against the top west coast turfer in Daytona in his last, to me he had a far worser trip than Daytona. I'm not a huge fan of T Baze's on turf as he chooses Ever A Friend but at 9/2 Hyperbaric seems to me a very logical bet if his last was true and he can carry the extra weight.
