![]() I'm so used to that policy on the pick 4. Who gives you a consolation if your horse scratches in the last leg of a p4 that you're live for?

![]() The 8 was always the favorite.
This is the same rule every track has.

![]() I have never seen a consolation Pick 4 but they should.
If you give consolation Pick 3s and DD why not P4s?? |

![]() consolations do not pay very much.
I can do you one up. Met Mile Day 2005, the year Ghostzapper won. I had the 1 entry in the pick four with one other selection and that horse was named Sovereign Kit. One half of the 1. entry was scratched in the paddock. Since one half of the entry scratched ,the other half was declared a purse only runner. That purse only runner was the horse I loved and the reason I made the entry a part of my ticket. Well he won and the other horse I had Sovereign Kit finished a close 3rd behind the second place finisher. The rest of the ticket won out and I was on the outside looking in. |

![]() They should just give out p4 consolations. As far as the entry thing goes, they shouldn't allow any trainer(or ownership group) to have more than one horse in a race. People are born selfish. Much energy is then used to try to correct this. It almost never works as well as we would like to think it works. Anybody watching the TVG feed from Hwd Park Friday night got to see this on full display. Tyler Baze is pretty much the #1 go to jock for trainer Jeff Mullins. Tyler Baze chooses not to ride a maiden comebacker who failed with him up at 3/5 (at Fairplex.) He is on a 1st timer Lit de Justice horse. O.K., now, the interviewer asks the trainer about the 1st timer (who is about the size of a Grey Great Dane.) He says he has a lot of heart. Then she asks him about the comebacker. He proceeds to tell her that he needs a race, and that he doesn't work these comebackers very hard when they have a comeback race. She asks him what he told ice cold jock Clinton Potts. He said he told him to conserve the horse's energy in the early part of the race. What did he tell Tyler Baze? He said he told Tyler to "just win." Ex-trainer Nick Hines proceeds to say that, despite this, he is sticking with the comebacker as his top selection. The comebacker proceeds to win with a push-button ride. Potts and Mullins high five, and the lil runt 1st timer never shows even a lil bit of run. This is classic scumbag Jeff Mullins. However, he is just pulling the clever switch that he is allowed to pull. It would seem obvious that one with poor verb-tense ability is probably not one to listen to in the 1st place, but trainers should never have the chance to do what he did. They should not ever be allowed to run 2 horses in a race. Some are honest, but the game shouldn't have to hope for that. Error on the side of players, and not on the side of a group of people that are really about as honest as car salesman. If they were all like Ron Ellis, then it would be different, but they are not like that. Paddy Gallagher gets to try to do the same in the last today.
