I realize this post has absoutely no merit, but strictly hyptothetically speaking:
If the owners thought that the triple crown was too tough of a task for Big Brown to achieve (based more on the 3 races in 5 weeks and his fragile feet, more than the competition of course), how cool would it be to have him stay stabled at Churchill and face Curlin in the Stephen Foster next month? Obviously they have far more to gain for him to continue to beat up on 3-year olds and possibly achieve legendary status as the first triple crown winner in ages. But for fans wanting a race between the 2 best colts in the country, this is probably the only opportunity for it to happen. I realize any 3-yo facing older in stakes competition this early in the year is up against it, whether it's Curlin or whomever. But, it's fun to think about. |
