Default OK... a tough group today....

I'm not asking for sympathy and I'm not looking for a character badge.

I called what I though was a legitimate business, not seeking out this kind of information, got fed a line and fell for it. I thought that any number of others could find themselves in the same situation, so I just wanted to say watch out.

Let's not take ourselves to seriously though shall we. My $50 is not going to distort any win pools, taking advantage of all the bettors in America. If you follow the logic presented, any of the connected people on this board who get inside tips on live horses, which happens all the time, and who do not immediately share with the group are guilty of the same thing.

I'm also pretty certain that the percentage of people on this board who have *never* checked out the Wizard's picks, or a Closer Look which oh that's right you pay for... is close to zero, so spare me the holier than thou line

End of Story

you said in your confidential story that we should "feel free to agree that I'm a complete dumbass".

but as soon as anyone said anything critical you got all touchy and offended.
what did you expect?

I will admit, I called one of those numbers for football once and realized it was a scam within minutes. As far as Horse Racing goes, I love to handicap (even though I suck at it most of the time). But the feeling you get when you dope out a race and nail it is tremendous. By getting picks would just cheapen something that I like love to do.

purchasing race analysis (the wizard or whatever) as an adjunct to your own handicapping is one thing. anyone purporting to offer big winnings and blockbuster scores should be avoided. as someone mentioned, the selections area on Dt is probably better than most of the touts, and the price is right!

Anonymous, I really don't think it's very right of people to be so belittling in this thread, but then again, almost every thread with the tiniest shred of controversy heads down a bad road, so...yeah. Anyway, thank you for admitting what you did and trying to warn people.

that emerged in the thread after we worked through the group fighting their hangovers....

unfortunately not my last bad handicapping decision, but learned a lesson, pure con artistry... thx
