How Tomcito was made a favorite in that race, at 8.5 with the finish where it was going to be, is yet another great mystery of this year's preps.

If he won impressively yesterday he may have been relatively short odds in the derby too.

Tomshito had a 1 in a million chance to win, however when PG1985 came with his endorsement it sealed his fate. At that point the connections should have been looking to scratch.

How he went off as chalk defies logic

If he won by 5 he'd still be a big question mark because the Lexington was run on Polytrack, which in no way resembles real dirt. Until Churchill switches to synthetic, unproven dirt horses who win these Kee preps (i.e. Momba and Pletcher's horse who won the Lexington; I can't even remember his name) must be downgraded.

I didn't say he deserved to be! Someone out there is going to actually bet on Cowboy Cal too! Monba did win a race on Churchill dirt.

I find it funny that Pyro gets a pass for running like shiat on polytrack, but this horse doesn't.

While I don't care for Tomcito, I would still give him a pass on the polycrap. I agree with Steve too in that 8.5 furlongs just isn't long enough for this horse.

exactly, Pyro proved that he can race at the top level in America, Tomcito has not and yet still gets the hype.

Although it was pure insanity that he was bet to favoritism, he did actually run his race- beaten 4 lengths, so he ran about a 90 Beyer which is what I got for him for the Fl Derby. He kind of reminds me of a slower version of Jazil.
