The problem lies with their website stating that after the wagering closes you get the favorite. So, I read that as any late scratches in the 4th race get you refunded and any late scratches in the 5th through 9th races gets you the post time favorite. When the 2 & 3 scratched out of the 4th, the wagering was still open. They and every other jurisdiction, just need to be crystal clear when they are posting scratch rules on their website. It's yet another thing that can turn off the casual fan. The different wagering rules from track to track and vagueness in their posted rules for wagering. It is low on the list of problems, but it is a problem. |
