It really amazes me that girls of this age could do this, not the sick idea but the amount of damage, they are all like 90lbs soaking wet......it is even sicker that the girl that was getting pummeleed didn't just start throwing haymakers, because those girls would have stopped....grab something, a light, umbrella, throw the TV on the floor, do something that distracts them, kick out a window.....

This totally smells like a 'popular' school girl group and this girl that got hurt was trying to be friends with them.

it is reasons like this that they cancelled our "powder puff" football games (where the Senior girls would take on the Junior girls) and stuff about two years after I was out of high school, it got way out of control. So much unchecked aggression...

What is even worse is that my guess is that some of these parents think they have good hearted kids, and are probably good people, and they are on the hook from the lawsuit that will come down from it.

Did you go to Glenbrook North?

Actually, if I remember the video, I didn't see much football being played. Just a bunch of paint, feces, urine, and a few baseball bats and paintball guns.

No I didn't go there, but I remember the story. It was never that way, until the girls realized the attention they would get from dudes that would show up.

The world has obviously gotten more aggressive, and honestly, I think corporations have bred this into people with how cutthroat they have become. For years, safety in schools were never questioned. my freshman year, our big gym (we had three) was on fire for a while, roof fire, put out, all good. When I was a sophomore, three junior girls were killed when they got into the car with a guy that was drunk, this woke my high school up. The worst thing that happened my senior year at my school was a security guard falling from the 500 golf balls that myself and an accomplice threw down the stairs. I was 'safe' at my high school. Sure there were a couple brawls, but nothing insane where knifes or guns were pulled out. I am only out of high school 10 years ago and it is amazing how much things have changed. And I live in the posh suburbs of Chicago, where we have good schooling and good areas, we have the ability to do almost anything we want in our lives. I can only imagine what goes on in the high school in areas were the quality of life isn't as high, or the family structure isn't as strong.

And the sick thing is, there is really no way to regulate this violence, the only way would be to have someone in every hallway, in every gym, because these kids can care less about a camera and in most cases, a teacher....And that is just not financially possible

i've heard big business get the blame for a lot of stuff....but the behavior of kids? i think it's a reach.

i think it's got more to do with rotten parenting than anything. parents want to be their kids best buddy instead of their parent. or are too busy, too tired, too whatever to even deal with their own child.

You don't think kids hear about their parents getting laid off, or they hear about the economy and what is happening? Compare a 16 year olds knowledge NOW, to one of 10 years ago and you will see the person now, is infinitely smarter then the one from 10 years ago, in all aspects, not just life, but educationally also.

These kids have the worlds at their fingers, and their learning curve is ALOT faster now days. What 18 year olds knew 5 years ago, 16 year olds know now. And it will only get faster. I am all for sex education at 10-11 years old because you know what, it is starting then, it really is. I was lucky in that I had uncles that were only 10 years older then me when I was growing up and my parents were very upfront about alot of stuff, but alot of parents are not that way. I don't think I had a sex education class until I was 17 in high school, I was already on my 2nd or 3rd girl by then (trying to make a point, not boost the ego)

Do you realize that 'cheating on your girlfriend' is now popular in high school? This didn't start happening until college for my age level, but now, it is popular within sophomore and junior aged kids....

are you serious?? In a city like Chicago?? We were having sex ed classes when I was in 8th grade.

i have a 21, 18 and 16 year old. all are bright and intelligent, talented and well behaved. i'd like to think it's because tony and i were willing to be the 'bad guy' and do a good job as parents, rather than try to be their buddies.
parents are the biggest influence on their children. shame they aren't always good influences, or are present in their kids lives.
